MINISTRIES

  • As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

    Proverbs 27:17 NLT

There are lots of opportunities for Men, Women, and Young Adults through our Connect Groups, Bible studies, and other church-wide events throughout the year. To see all of our upcoming events, please visit our Events page on our website.

  • Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.

    Galatians 6:2 NLT

Life is messy and often painful.  None of us can avoid the grief and loss that happens in our lives.  What we do to help each other get through these difficult times, (and joyful times), can make the difference between thriving or just surviving.

As Christians we are part of a greater family of believers.  We are called to offer compassion, empathy and love to others.  Throughout the Gospels, Jesus is seen multiple times healing bodies, minds and spirits.  He understood the depths of suffering and its stranglehold on the lives of people.  Jesus extended understanding and empathy.  As a part of the body of Mount Zion, this too is our task.

Care Ministry is carefully designed to connect the church family to one another as we journey together through life.  We pray that people find hope and companionship through this ministry.

    Care Ministry Services

  • Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

    Ephesians 4:11-12 NLT

Each week we have a team of volunteers that help enhance our worship through running the slides and running the cameras for the livestream during the 9:30 and 11:00 services. Experience is not required; training is provided, and we offer flexibility in scheduling. Contact Online Ministries Coordinator, Katelyn Sawyer, if you’d like to help out.

  • Singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.

    Ephesians 5:19 NLT

It is our desire that God is at the center of all we do musically. We strive to respond to Him through gifts of worship and music. We plan our services with the goal that He receives the glory and praise for our actions and is glorified through our worship gatherings each week.

You'll find a variety of musical expressions from contemporary, classical, bluegrass and southern gospel, all focused to magnify Jesus Christ. We offer three distinct services that also offer different musical styles: 8:15 Traditional, which music focuses on hymns; a 9:30 Contemporary, which music has more of a modern feel; and an 11:00 Blended service that has a mixture of different styles.

There are plenty of opportunities to be involved in Music Ministries at Mount Zion including:

    • E519 -  Contemporary Music Group that leads the music worship at the 9:30 contemporary service. Practice is on Tuesday nights at 7 PM. Contact Erin Nenni for more information on how to participate.

    • Choir - Adults and Youth share a musical offering during the 11:00 Blended service each week. Practice is on Thursday at 7:00 PM. Contact Julie An for more information on how to participate.

    • AV - If you are interested in helping in this area, please contact AV & Tech Chair - Tim Ackerman

If you are musically gifted, or just love singing and want to join us, please get in touch!

  • And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

    Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NLT

Children and Youth are treasured by God, and at Mount Zion we value them and their families.  We believe that parents are the primary teachers of their children and youth.

We encourage and support parents in their spiritual nurturing of their children and youth, in the home, church, and community. Our Next Generations Ministries Team offers a variety of ministry programs and events for Christian faith development and fellowship each year.

The weekly Elevate programs are designed to match Mount Zion's mission and vision to call children and youth, Upward, Onward and Outward in their walk with our Lord. Children and Youth do not need to be members to attend. Throughout the year Elevate Youth sponsors a weekly ministry on Wednesday nights, plus retreats, fellowship nights, and a yearly mission opportunities.

To learn more about our Elevate programs or to sign your child up, please contact our Next Generations Minister, Jenni Ackerman.

  • Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

    Philippians 4:4-7 NLT

Prayer is an expression of our relationship with God. Our prayers, both individually and as a church family, open us to the guidance, wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit as we seek God’s heart and will.
