NextGen Ministry Assistant

15 Hours

 

The NextGen Ministry Assistant position at Mount Zion Church is a great opportunity to get first-hand knowledge and experience in the field of Next Generations Ministry as you work under the leadership and direction of our Next Generations Minister. This position will support the vision of Mount Zion Church which is to become a passionate body of disciples being transformed by Christ, growing through biblical teaching, and sharing the Good News to the ends of the earth. The position will be to participate in working with leadership to live out Mount Zion’s mission which is to call people upward, onward, and outward.

 

Upward is a focus on Jesus Christ in worship and devotion.

Onward is continuing in the process of spiritual growth and development.

Outward is seeing the world through Jesus’ eyes and pursuing ways to reach out

in service and sharing the Good News of salvation.

 

Qualifications

  • Commitment to Christ with an active and growing personal walk with the Lord

  • Passion and love for working with children and youth, exhibiting creativity, enthusiasm, patience, and integrity

  • Ability to effectively communicate with children, youth, and adults in large and small groups

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Agility to do frequent walking, standing, stopping, bending, and lifting

  • Superior computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software

  • Availability to work 15 hours per week, to include Sundays and Wednesdays

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check

 

Responsibilities

  • Help with the planning and implementing of Next Generation’s weekly ministries

  • Develop relationships with children, youth, parents, volunteers, and staff

  • Collaborate with team members in the planning and execution of wide-ranging Next Gen ministry programs and initiatives including Sunday and weekly programing, events, retreats and mission week, and community outreach

  • Perform administrative tasks as needed to fulfill ministry needs

  • Actively participate in regular congregational worship

  • Maintain personal, spiritual and professional growth practices
